Several years ago, in an effort to restructure the company’s revenue stream and overall makeup, Abbott began a period of acquisitions, particularly of medical device companies. Along with the new lines of business, Abbott acquired a host of human resource challenges.
During Merck CEO Richard Clark’s leadership (2005–2011), Conner Partners worked in all areas of Merck’s strategic transformation. This included changing the Manufacturing Division’s role within Merck; altering how the Research Labs conducted and managed drug trials; redefining how Merck and the industry promotes and markets drugs; and restructuring support services for future growth. The story we will share involved our work within the Merck Manufacturing Division (MMD).
