The Why Behind What We Do
ACMP Global Conference Keynote Presentation – May 3, 2011

As change practitioners, we spend a lot of time refining what we do (facilitate change) and how we go about doing it (applying our various concepts, methodologies, etc.). We should be equally attentive to why. Why are we so motivated—some of us even driven—to engage in this occupation?

There are as many perspectives on why change facilitation is a worthy career as there are practitioners. During his keynote presentation at the inaugural ACMP Global Conference, Daryl challenged us to explore some of the possibilities and examine what motivates each of us to be so devoted to this profession. The Front Lines of Change
Installment Two – September 16th, 2010

This second installment of our webinar series, The Front Lines of Change, is a one-hour discussion including two separate, intense explorations of current challenges faced by experienced practitioners involved in actual projects that have become stuck. September’s session highlights practitioners from two frequently talked about and relevant industries – Energy and Healthcare. These experienced change practitioners, one representing a large, global energy company and the other a mid-sized community hospital, talk with Daryl about their industries and challenges. Daryl works with each of them to identify what has them stuck and what they can do about it.

Project Management/Change Management: Bridging The Gap
July 29, 2010

Project management and change management practitioners tend to operate in isolation, which hurts both sides. There are plenty of reasons for the two disciplines to be allies, not the least of which is the dismal (30%) success rate of the average change initiative. In reality, project management and change management are not only complimentary, they are interdependent. The value they can generate together has synergistic potential well beyond what either can accomplish on its own. What this requires, however, is more teamwork across their professional boundaries. In an effort to begin to bridge that gap, Daryl will devote most of the webinar session to sharing key learnings from the field of change management that he believes could enhance the effectiveness of project management.
