Professional Experience

In 2023, Deb completed a 14-year career with Goodwill Industries International. During that time, she worked closely with Goodwill’s 155 CEOs and GII’s Board of Directors as vice president of member relations. For the last seven years, Deb’s work focused on leadership development and team building, finishing out her tenure as chief talent officer. In that capacity, she led a team of learning experts in the build out and delivery of Goodwill Academy, a comprehensive offering of in-person, hybrid and on-demand learning programs to support the training and development of Goodwill’s 125,000 team members. The cornerstone of Goodwill’s programming included intensive, cohort-based learning programs for senior leaders and c-suite professionals focused on leadership development from the inside out; from emotional intelligence and change agility, to strategic diagnosis and visioning.

Before joining Goodwill, Deb led communications and learning for National Industries for the Blind (NIB), whose mission is to enhance opportunities for economic and personal independence for people who are blind by creating, sustaining, and improving employment opportunities. It was during her time with NIB that Deb connected to her passion for supporting people with the tools, resources and key insights to grow their leadership and thrive in their careers.

Prior to her work in the non-profit sector, Deb led the content development and operations of large-scale national conference programs in the fields of medicine and real estate.

Deb and her family live in north central Texas, where they love to spend time outside, working in their garden or exploring the numerous state parks. She also enjoys reading, cooking and a wide range of podcasts.
